1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how AppConfig² ("we", "us") handles information in connection with the IAM Meets Developers Workshop website (workshop.appconfig.eu) and associated booking communications.
Key Privacy Principle: This website is a static informational site. We do not operate any server-side tracking, analytics, or data collection. No personal data is collected or stored by the website itself. The only personal data we receive is what you voluntarily send us by email when booking a workshop session.
2. What Information We Collect
2.1 Booking & Enquiry Emails
When you click a "Book Now" or "Contact Us" link on this site, your email client opens a pre-addressed message. If you choose to send that email, we receive:
- Your name and email address (from your email client)
- Your organization name and the information you include in the message body (e.g. preferred dates, participant count)
This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and coordinate the workshop session. We do not add your details to mailing lists without your explicit consent.
2.2 Information We Do Not Collect
- No registration forms on this website collect personal data
- No analytics or tracking scripts are loaded (no Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar)
- No cookies are set by this website beyond what your browser may store locally for the share/copy functionality (purely client-side, never transmitted)
- No IP address logging or server-side visitor tracking is performed
3. How We Use Your Information
Information received via email is used exclusively to:
- Respond to your booking request or enquiry
- Coordinate session logistics (date, format, participant details)
- Send you relevant workshop materials ahead of and after the session, where agreed
We do not use your contact details for unsolicited marketing, and we do not share your information with third parties except where required to deliver the workshop (e.g. sharing your name with a co-instructor for an on-site session) or where required by law.
4. Data Retention
Booking-related emails and correspondence are retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the workshop engagement and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping purposes, typically up to 2 years. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at privacy@appconfig.app.
5. Hosting & Third-Party Services
This website is hosted as a static site. The hosting infrastructure may log standard web server access logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) in accordance with the hosting provider's own privacy policy. AppConfig² does not process or analyse these logs for tracking purposes.
No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are embedded in this site. External links (e.g. LinkedIn, GitHub) are subject to those platforms' own privacy policies.
6. Cookies
This website does not set tracking or analytics cookies. The dark/light theme preference selected on the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy pages is saved to your browser's localStorage — this data never leaves your device.
Your browser may also store favicon and asset caches as part of normal web browsing behaviour. These are not used by us for any tracking purpose.
7. Your Rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have the following rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure: Ask us to delete your data where there is no legitimate reason to retain it
- Restriction: Ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
- Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@appconfig.app. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
8. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA / UK)
Where GDPR applies, we process booking-related personal data on the basis of:
- Contract performance: To fulfil the workshop booking you requested
- Legitimate interests: To maintain records of completed engagements for a reasonable period
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on the workshop website.
